For untold generations, the cursed sword had devoured the essence of humanity, food for its never ceasing hunger. In its screaming madness it gorged again and again. But even such an infernal glutton will lose its taste eventually.

A solution was simple- escape unto another reality. The sword was quite used to this power. It had meddled with many worlds beyond. Some contained heroes of time, others men who had lost their identity to technology. All the sword needed to do was relocate itself and begin feasting anew.

This is how the sword came to arrive in Mirisha, a world so similar yet different. The natives resembles humans but not of the sort that was common. Their skin was instead pure metal, their proportions squat. But inside burned the souls of strong warriors. Passion...strength...ambition. The sword knew this was perfect.

The sword came to be collected by servants of a lord named Sousou. A supposed champion of justice, the sword had been brought before him due to the evil aura it exerted. Soul Edge had encountered his kind before. It was not so difficult to twist these supposed 'heroes' into suitable pawns, egging them on with promises of fulfilling their true desires. Night after night, the two engaged in a battle of wits. Sousou refused to wield the sword but just barely. The fact he could not bring himself to destroy it was most telling. It was only a matter of time...

Days passed. War moved on, but not in the way Sousou would wish. He was desperate, needing great power to turn the tide. The blade's moment had come. Sousou grasped the hilt...and Mirisha's darkest time began....
