Indiana Jones has some history with dangerous monsters. He is what you might call a rugged survivor, the grizzled old man by the campfire telling stories about all the terrors of the world that you can't even imagine, terrors he has faced and barely managed to escape. And a true survivor knows that the greatest weapon in his arsenal is caution; it is better to flee and live, than to die a brave fool. When he saw the snarling beast lurking in their path, prepared to gobble them down in seconds, he knew. He knew it was time to put all his skills and experiences to use, to save his own life and the life of the hapless young maiden on his back. It was the true wise and noble thing to do.

Mona was not fully aware of this particular quality in mister Indiana Jones until about two strides before the jump in question. And, being a hapless young maiden, she had no idea of the danger they were in, and rather than acknowledging his superior wisdom and turning away from the jump as he suggested, she told him to go forward. "It's just a jump, Jones, go!"

The majestic stallion heaved a mental sigh. For the sake of the sweet yet terribly naive young human, he would make the sacrifice. He would jump, jump as high above the gaping maw as possible, and perhaps if the wind picked up at the right moment, they would be blown to safety.

But what were the odds of that? They were definitely going to die.

Forgive the incorrect attire. They spent so much time trying to make his girth fit that they forgot to check the dress code.

I missed you, Indiana Jones.
