Description
Presenting the SWBA 2020 Bruksprov -approved stallions!
A few notes (please read before going through the catalogue)-
- this is a PDF file. Some browsers display this poorly; if you can't see it, please download to view. If you aren't able to download, let me know and we'll figure something out!
- In the file, the names of the stallions are clickable and take you to each one's reference image. The stable names in the "Owner" section are also clickable, for easy contacting. (ETA- so apparently the formatting is an ass and has, upon uploading to dA, put the stallion name links in the middle of the main image on each page for some unfathomable reason? Hopefully not for you guys, but if it's an issue, mouse around a little until it highlights, they are there I promise)
- Scores were generated by first grading each image according to the event rubric; different point values were then placed in different RNG ranges (a top grade opened up the full high-end score range (not a guarantee of top scores, but easier), a less-than-top grade was rolled in a way that was a little more difficult to achieve the highest scores in the RNG). Some of the points were rearranged to suit the horse (if a horse was described as having its trot as one of its biggest strengths but rolled, say, a 7 there, perhaps that 7 would trade places with the 10 in type that was rolled - same scores, just assigned to different areas to match descriptions better).
- Once scores were set, evaluation comments were written accordingly. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I wrote all of the comments, rather than some being art-based and written by another person; those who wanted an art-based evaluation have gotten that to some extent, keeping in mind my limited conformation expertise. Random comments were essentially compared to a real-life catalogue I own - find a stallion with an 8 in legs, see what his comment says, write something similar (but in English).
- Remember that this is all just-for-fun extra stuff! If you feel like the comment or score doesn't really line up with how you envision your stallion, please totally disregard it. Every participating stallion passed this year; if, in your story, you want your horse to have 10s across the board, go for it. This isn't some sort of permanent record in the group, or a "real harpg world" judgment on your character's quality, it's just a little project I've wanted to do for a long time and getting to borrow your boys for it gave me a great excuse to play. Your lads are all gorgeous and in my own mind they're all perfect 10s, no matter what the in-character SWBA rng judges say.
Thank you so much for your patience! I hope it's at least a little bit worth the wait. I have wanted to do something like this for quite a few years now, but this is my first attempt at anything like this, and it was... a lot more time-consuming and difficult than I had initially expected. Writing comments was surprisingly tricky, there were some unexpected scoring issues that I had to sort out and run a few beta tests on to get things looking reasonably realistic, formatting and design is faaar from my forte, and then the technical bits of putting this together was a lot of banging my head against the wall. But here we are!
Remember - each stallion receives the ribbon below, and the champions receive the sash. All art in the catalogue belongs to respective creators as credited on each page, I just mashed it together. Some minor edits have been done (cropping, a couple of minor lighting adjustments in a couple images to fit the catalogue purpose). Please let me know if you spot any glaring errors that need correcting.
Tagging participants since I can't seem to edit the event journal itself -
