First of all, I love the off-center focus, and the gradient background. And for some reason, the lines in his shirt. They're so stark and just... in-your-face. I don't know, they just make him stand out even more and sort of make him look more desolate.
And secondly, my mom and I actually had a discussion of whether it was easier to be male or female. Our conclusion: both suck equally and inequally. Equally because... well, they both freaking suck. But inequally because they suck for different reasons. Males, mainly because they suffer horrible stereotypes - good example being "boys are ALWAYS reckless, so let's make them pay more for car insurance because EVERYONE knows all teenage boys drive like morons!" (truth be known, I know more girls who got in accidents than boys) - and girls because of physical aspects, though some worse than others (I bruise and can't walk for usually a day each month. Yeah, trust me, being a girl sucks, too.)
Our final argument came down to this: it's great that girls can sit and relax when in the bathroom (win!) but men have the upperhand in the woods.

it really is hard.. to both.. boys and girls.. and im talking about feelings.. people say that boys aren't supposed to cry.. they must show they're strong.. some girls try to show her strong side too.. although i try to seem happy and don't cry when im with my friends.. sometimes i just can't.. i don't do that to show im strong.. i do that because i don't want to worry them.. because i like to see them happy.. but i suffer too.. boys suffer as well as girls, sometimes they suffer about thinks that they can change.. like.. a boy and a girl that like each other.. but they just don't know what the other half feels.. and they suffer thinking that they will never be together... that can be solved if they show what they feel.. other times.. they suffer about things that just can't be changed.. and now i use my life as an example.. i love someone that just lives >1000 km far.. i can't go there.. sometimes i just wish i could be by her side.. and that makes me cry.. in this case.. the only thing i can do is wait... and try to keep myself up.
usually i don't comment on DD, i just give a +fav when i like it.. but when i saw this... i just couldn't fav it without a comment.. it has a really good concept, and it's so expressive.. even thow it was not taken to be this serious.. the message it has.. made it like that

I agree man! I mean.. If I could choose one of my pictures that I'd like to feature as a DD it would never be that one.. I prefer something a bit more subtle to be honest. When I took the picture, me and andreas was just having fun.. He was supposed to pretend to make out with somone.. u know.. the old trick we did at elementary school. I put this comment on it, and even put a wink (A WINK EVERYBODY!!) after it, so people could understand that this wasn't 100% serious.. And now I get stupid comments like "Some girls I know would be offended by that" !?!?

I always wondered a lot about... Why boy's lives are hard, because I've always (since I'm a girl) had a bias that girl's lives are harder. But I think its safe to say they're both hard in different ways.
Girls- Bitchy about eachother. Boys- Never allowed to show emotion
Girls- EXTREMELY HARD to find a nice boy, and someone to love. Boys- Have to deal with girl's ideal for a guy.

We should all do our best to tear those traditional gender roles apart, thats my opinion. It doensnt matter if your a boy or a girl, its just society and our culture that has created these roles, and I dont think we should conform.

In the initial description of the image I wrote: " sometimes it's hard to be a boy..
This image to me, was just a funny idea that kind of looked more serious in the end result. This whole discussion about boys and girls is just silly (and funny at the same time..) To me, boys and girls are equal, it's society that forces us to conform to the ideas of gender. You could read some of my other responses to other people's comment's if you still don't get the point. Sometimes I've responded in a serious manner, sometimes not. I dont think we should take life to seriously
