I have a mad addiction to BrBa, and this piece is stunning! You've captured his character amazingly well in this piece, the details and the shading are absolutely amazing.
Brilliant work, as always!

Love this as mentioned in Thumbshare. Care to tell me how you're working with the sodium silicate? I'm considering working in more textures for my spring paintings, been looking around for cool techniques like this.

Thanks so much! Generally I use sodium silicate for crackling and chipped paint effects-- this texture was a happy accident. My sodium silicate was old and as a result, thick like molasses. I put it on, waited for it to set up a little, put my latex paint on top, and then blasted it with high heat from a hair dryer. It didn't crackle, but shrank up to give me that wrinkled effect. Sometimes playing around can give you the best textures.

Ah I see, very cool. I'm one for spontaneous background effects, so this was an interesting visual for sure.

Oh wow, the realism is astounding. So many colours used to create this lively image, and yet so dark and almost discomforting with his stare.
And on wood? I've never actually seen that before, bravo.
(I've never seen Breaking Bad either, whoops.)
