I think too of the old druid legends of locking one in a tree...perhaps he just managed to emerge (with all that knowledge) a bit tired and peckish besides.
It is a fantastic, thought provoking image.

the tree does look hollow, and there is that split at it's base... and he does look a bit wooden - think you may be on to something

WOW! But I am wondering why he seems so glum, when knowledge is power.

perhaps what he's learned... is something that he would rather not have known and thinks that there may be something to the saying that ignorance is bliss...

appreciate
And can believe that becoming aware of one's self... is the beginning of also losing one's self. And wanted this image to be open to interpretation and perhaps... reinterpretation after thinking about it for a moment - or at least - lol - accepted as a piece of eye candy.

hmm its so beautiful manip.. .. but i disagree with the concept , i think knowlege is a tree which will never die .. !!
knowledge itself .. isn't that great .. but when we use it .. and have it..its the most powerful and strongest thing in life ..!!
yet, everyone .. have knowledge .. because its something we learn not only from books ..but from life itself .. we live through it ..
even if its vary from someone to another ..and from level to level ..!
its still knowledge...and its still important..
XD sorry about the long comment

don't think knowledge can be a hollow thing ?
or that seeking knowledge, seeking answers, when we come upon them - that they are not enough - that we want to savor the fruit and not be let down when those answers do not meet our expectations... or that we can seek and search and find that we have done so to late to find the answers we want...
LOL
Not necessarily the basic premises behind this, but still... the type of questions I hope it might bring...

your interpretation is one I had hoped for, though think it is open to other thoughts as well, as I showed...
Agree with you it's knowledge and our pursuit of understanding that gives us possibilities in this world, and it's those random facts we accumulate, that at the time may not seem important, one day may come into play...

great image of it being a dead tree because all knowledge is essentially dead. Knowledge is the known.. Known is the Past.. thus dead.
