The first Castaways book is the closest to his Redwall style. The first half of the story is their origin, but the second half takes place a few centuries later when they've gained some maturity. They arrive in a small town to help prevent it from being demolished, by (surprise surprise) following riddles to try and discover the deed to the entire town.
That said, it's still quite good and worth the read. There's a lot of fun moments, and the way he describes the Dutchman itself and what happens to Vanderdecken.... it's awesome.
