Well, the series ended a few months ago. So the fandom probably shrunk down a bit. From my personal experience with fandomsΒ that is actually pretty normal and not a sign that it is about to die. ( People have been saying it is about to die since Twilight got her wings...which happenedΒ in February 2013, so yeah...)

Things like that are normal, too. Of course some of it are probably related to the Starlight Glimmer controversy. She used to be an evil cult leader whoΒ later also nearly destroyed the world via time travel. Of course she got reformed and added to the main cast. No punishment at all.Β Β

Although I guess showing her the timeline where everything is a barren wasteland, implying some major extinction event might have to do something with it. Still she was forgiven way too easy. She didn't even have a good Freudian Excuse to be evil in the first place.Β No seriously, they showed the actual event via time travel. ( Personally I would have used that opportunity to kill her younger self, although that of course would be out of character for Twilight and might cause rating issues )
