About the unintentional similarity, I don't know about 'Forsworn,' but am not surprised.
My guess is that pretty much anything involving natural forms, including and perhaps particularly including the human body, resembles something that's been done before. And quite possibly something that's been done in the few millennia since we started making detailed 'hard copy' records.
I have no problem with that, since I see it means what's new or newly-remembered is something that's worked before, and was memorable enough - to be remembered.
