Day 43

With each day that passes I find it a little easier to hold the now-tiny pen in my hand, though at the same time I wonder more and more why I write in the first place. We have yet to find anything resembling a settlement with governance or many others concerned with more than their next meal. An understandable sentiment, to be fair, especially considering how much we have all changed...

A loud grumble from the Charizard's stomach distracted her. The smell of meat got her stomach barking. The (comparatively) little Sceptile appeared over a pile of rubble hauling the carcass of a deer, breasts threatening to pop out of her threadbare top every time she took a step. She had no idea how the plant type was such a good hunter - supposedly the Sceptile was an office worker less than 2 months ago - yet the results spoke for themselves. Whatever the Sceptile did, she did it alone. Goodness knows the other two of them couldn't hide their presence no matter how hard they tried. The Feraligatr nearby stomped heavily as she strolled the outskirts of their resting spot.

She gave her belly a pat, urging it to calm down a little, and watched the ripple spread gently across her gelatinous body. These days it felt like her belly had a mind of its own. Not too long ago she was trim, athletic... she still *was* quite athletic, she had to admit, she had just suddenly become several times her old size. And then kept growing steadily after that. Every morning it seemed like she was simultaneously a little taller and her belly a little closer to kissing the ground, and yet she could probably still run several miles (very loudly) if the situation called for it, and could even fly a little! At least for now, she thought, patting her rippling form. And then there was her new specialty.

She looked at the chunks of meat, torn up by the hefty Feraligatr standing proud nearby, and put her cooking skills to use. Controlling the heat of her flames came surprisingly naturally - despite years working on all manner of grills and ovens over the years, this was undoubtedly the best heat she'd ever had the opportunity to work with. A bit of scrounged bread, and... well, it didn't look as appetizing as the ones from before, maybe, but they were some darn good burgers. Of course, these days a entire butchered deer was more a meal than a stocked larder. She tossed one of the venison burgers up into the air, snapping her jaws and eating it whole. Not much time to rest on laurels.

Maybe there'll be an inhabited shelter beyond the next hill.

With thanks to an anonymous person for giving me a better idea for the blurb than I had developed initially! Still a bit awkward as it's a lot of information to cram into a few hundred words, but did my best.

Had a fairly specific request for a post-apocalyptic, TF/WG pokemon scenario featuring a Charizard, Feraligatr and Sceptile. At first I figured I'd just do three separate images, but I thought it might be an interesting challenge to do all three together.

Getting multiple very big characters tends to be pretty chancy, so I set the canvas as wide as it could possibly go and tinkered with the height while rolling the dice to see how often I could get three. Overall still pretty low odds, and attempting to use the regional prompting tool just got me garbled junk for some reason, but in the end I got a handful of potential raws in a couple dozen attempts.

From that, it was a matter of inpainting each region with a species-specific LoRA since the raw has them all sort of bleed into each other, and further define some stances and positions, while also trying to prevent too much background 'seaming' from the inpainting. And then a fair bit of manual painting since the LoRAs have their issues. The Sceptile one was the weak link here, which is probably noticeable.

In the end I'm honestly not super thrilled with the quality, but it's decent. Perhaps I should have gone with three separate images after all.
