Meryll has always been very tall, even as a kid. It gave most of the other kids at his school reason to tease and bully him about it- throwing rocks or other objects at him to see who'd hit his face first. Though he never fought back against them, as his mother had teached him not to fight back violence with violence. It lead to him now always assuming it is somehow his fault if someone snaps or starts hurting him, physically and mentally. But he had perfected his pokerface over all these years, so you wouldn't notice if he was hurt in any way, until his body couldn't take it anymore.
It was all one big reason why he decided that he would move far away once he was old enough, to a place with kinder people where he could be like he wanted to be since the beginning. A place where he could be as creative and flamboyant as he wanted to be. The Ice Cream Mountains seemed like the perfect place to start~

He is actually very strong if he ever got into a fight and actually fought back for once, or if he snaps
He has a perfect balance, never seems to fall down just by himself
He isn't affected by the cold
The icy patches on his body feel just slightly chilly, they spread further if he's in a cold climate, if it's hot they'll go back to their default places
