I've never thought about why nymphs are always so unhappy in pics... I mean, dude, according to mythology (or parts of it) they often were chased around by/hooked up with fauns.
If you seen what they did to Tumnus in the Narnia movie, then you can see why I certainly wouldn't be sad with fauns chasing me around. <3

Because the loves of their lives tend to die/fall in love with themselves. They are also often loved by someone that they want to drop dead/are married to some of the most unfaithful men out there
