This is a collab between jedeye459 [link] and myself. Im not going to go into details about who did what because I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, or some such jazzYou can find his piece here [link]

Also, let me set the record straight on who had the honor of working with whom. I had the honor of throwing in some crappy suggestions to Jon, and even though he shot them down, I still learned alot.
Ill say it here as well, this is an attempt to mix two opposite trends, and trends that we each are pretty knowledgeable in. Hopefully the effect came through. I think so.

wow. The 3d and grunge look appears to mix extremely well. Awesome job, guys. I love this piece because it makes your eyes dart from corner to corner searching for the little details which make it all the more interesting the more you find.

Indeed I like this very much, although I have to say the jedeye's version is a little better at half the file size
Anyway the mixing of distinct styles and genres is always something I enjoy, and this is an excellent example. The lighting (with surrounding darkness) really complements the texture and change in colour.
The placement of the foreground object also complements the other objects for great depth. Wonderfull work both of you !

I'll have to say I don't agree with the suggestion that it feels empty - I think in this case the lack of a strong focal point helps it to be what it is: Functional art

i believe that you have mastered the art of blending 3d to grunge. This is amazing.. wow! I really like the hints of text and the bolder text in the top-left corner; adds a nice effect. Very good work!

I'll just throw you my comments on the other one-
like the mix, it's pretty sweet...grung work and 3d mix well together in this piece
although I can't help but feeling it's a little empty...there doesn't seem to be any real focal points other than "street via..." text in the upper left and there's something in the center but I can't tell what it is...if there was a more clearly defined focal area with an object that I can tell what it is...or some sort of theme for this piece I think it could be much better.
But I can see the excellent work that has been put into this, good job, hope you take me as feedback and not a nagger
