Little explanation here.
Genn's original design was gold and blue...Sormwind's colors, I think the reason why they made the colors of Gilneas gold and blue back in Cata was to give the worgen some kind of conection to the alliance, but it really doesn't make any sense for an independent nation to have the same colors that Stormwind has. Lordaeron is white and blue, and Kultiras is green and gold for example.

In the broken shore cinematic you can see Varian and Genn together, if Genn was blue and gold it would look like...Varian's dog or something, I imagine that's the reason why they changed his color palette in Legion, to differentiate him more and give him more character, the thing is...silver is not really a king's color, the redish brown is good, it fits the gilnean theme and flag, but for me the the silver was a little off, so I changed it to golden, hope you like it!
