Morrigan wants to be perfect. She wants to be attractive. She wants to be intelligent. She wants to grab the gazes of everyone in the room and keep them.
The only side she shows the public is her good one. Morrigan is an intelligent, well spoken lass to compliment her good looks. Her every word is calculated- she can build a person up and just as smoothly tear them apart. She's capable of playing an airheaded fool but her pride tends to keep her from doing so. Useful as it could be, the last thing she wants is for someone to write her off as an idiot.
Once you peel back the paint a bit you'll start seeing more of her uglier parts. It's easy for her to brush off insults- unless they carry any weight to them. She's aware of her faults- hyper aware even- and they're a bit of a sore subject for her. It won't take to many pointed comments to get her lash back out at you with a flurry of her own. When the dust clears and both parties calm down she'll act like it never happened. Morrigan has been trained over the years to just assume every argument is her fault, even if it isn't, so she just automatically forgives people.
The deeper you go the less cool and perfect she becomes. She's actually pretty jaded. Her callouses are thick and not much seems to surprise or phase her anymore. Morrigan doesn't have many hopes for the future- the world is a scary place no matter how eager she is to finally experience it out from under her father.
◗History:
Rohan Patel was not what you'd call a "good man". He was a dashing trader to strangers and a talented conman to those who knew him well. The hydreigon had a knack for charming people out of their coin and- well- out of their clothes as well. As a result it's easy to imagine that he fathered a number of children in his long life. The mother of his third child died shortly after giving birth and he was forced to actually raise his son on his own. Rohan came to see it as... a long term investment of sorts. Once the boy, Aaron, was old enough it turned into a pretty worth while investment in fact. However, as Aaron grew he became more and more rebellious and Rohan was forced to eventually let him go and rohan was pretty sad to see the free labor go. His fourth child was a Salandit that the mother lovingly christened Morrigan. The little Salandit was left in peace until she turned seven. Then she was spirited away by her father.
For the first year of her new life traveling with Rohan it was fine, great even. He showered her with fatherly affection and let her do just about whatever she wanted within reason. Then things started to roll down hill. A Salandit was a fine enough partner in crime but judging from her mother a Salazzle would be much better. Who better to charm the money out from the purses of their victims than a sweet smelling dragoness? So Rohan came up with a briliant method to help her along: throw her at as many ferals as possible until she evolves. The level of danger escalated over time. It got to the point where he threatened to have her fight more intelligent creatures- but surely she loved her father enough that it needn't come to that. She was almost sixteen when she finally evolved out of desperation. The scars she'd garnered from her many battles were covered in fresh new scales. Morrigan felt beautiful. Rohan felt rich.
Now that she at least looked like more of an adult she was forced to join him in his work. Sometimes it was easy, just getting a poor sap to loan her some money or buy a bogus product. Sometimes it wasn't so simple, her body would be bruised and battered and she'd lay helplessly waiting for someone to offer her assitance- only for Rohan to rob them blind. Still, over the years her father had ingrained in her mind that this was what was best for her. That the best way to show her loyalty, her love, was to listen and obey. What else could she do? All she had was her pretty face, something that she might not even have if not for him. Morrigan stayed with him for fifty-one years.
Until they received news that one of his little excursions had born fruit. When revisiting an old haunt they found out the sweet little servine woman he'd seduced seventeen years prior had born a deino . This was the first deino he'd ever sired. Morrigan and Rohan beat a hasty retreat from the town before the angry villagers could run him off. It took some searching but eventually they managed to track down two likely locations where the child, Petunia, might be located. Morrigan was sent to a place called Home in hopes of finding her half-sister.
And hopefully her replacement.
