I get this question once in a while. And since I end up having to screenshot a bunch of stuff each time, I decided that perhaps making a solid deviation illustrating them would be easier.Added Xel doodles for your viewing pleasure.Β
Any further questions you may have regarding my methods you can go ahead and comment on this deviation. This way I can keep better track of them.
I am by no means an expert, but I am always happy to help a fellow artist out. A good portion of skill comes from learning, in my opinion.

My copy of Painttool SAI does not save with transparency. Can you help me?:
I have this problem with my program and have yet to find a solution beyond saving everything as a .psd file and then saving the file in .png format on another program such as Photoshop or GIMP.
Can you help me fix ___ problem with my program/tablet?:
I am definitely not the person to ask-- my program knowledge is minimal. You'd have far better luck searching for solutions on google or something (which is what I do! hahaha).

Actually with sketching, do you do a skeleton or do you just go off and doodle without circling where the shoulders or hips should be and such of the nature?

Depends on my mood aha. I generally do make a skeleton-ish first sketch, though. Especially on poses I'm new to or haven't quite learned yet so that I can make sure I have the limbs going in their proper places and all that good stuff.

i think you can get transparency by saving it as .png and selecting the 2nd option, i think it's "32bpp (each pixel has opacity) " (^w^ )
or are there versions without that option? (Β°oΒ° )

I have that option, and it used to work. But now I get an error when saving in any setting besides .psd

the only things i know that could cause this problem is having a cracked or the trial version, having a character in the save name
that isnt supported or opening a corrupted file... (or if your pc is overloaded with work... maybe due to too many layers?)

Why do you size down your drawings before you submit them ? I'm just really curious, does that affect the quality or... ?Β

It basically gives you the ability to be a little sloppy without it showing.
Up close and full-sized, your brush strokes wont be perfectly straight. But after you size down from a big canvas to a basic canvas size they'll look much smoother.
