Holey Majolie! I just took a long look through your gallery and WOW !!! You should be making a great living from your obvious passion for art! You are fantastic! Generally I watch a lot of photographers (because that's my main media) and while I think they are talented....I doubt they could do the thing you can with a pencil and paper. I sure couldn't!

I wish I could make a living doing it! What a life that would be! Unfortunately, no one wants to pay the price I would charge. Oh well!

you should charge lots..the reason most people wouldn't is because they don't know just how much work goes into it...but your market would have to be sickeningly rich people who don't care about money and who are narcissistic enough to want their portraits hanging all over their house. Or! You could continue doing DH drawings and sell them to fans.I ld so pay you for the pick of Zarek and Ash/Marissa.

Instead of selling the originals, I set up a website where I sell 8 X 10 photo prints of my work. I've had lots of people say they want prints. Have yet to see it! LOL! But it is out there if anyone wants them. [link]

LOL!!! Shipping is no problem and shouldn't cost much.I usually mail them out in heavy cardboard photo envelopes. I haven't done any commission pieces in a long time. I have a couple people at work that want them but I try to tell them how much I charge and then they tell me, "Well, you don't have to go too crazy with it. Just a sketch!" I don't do sketches!!! LOL!

Well, the Barbossa is 8 x 10 inches. It took a few days. I would probably charge around $350 for it.

well I'd definitely have to consult with Shane about the commission piece but that doesn't mean I don't want it

I know your Cap'n Sparrow is your fav, but I think this one is my fav of yours so far. I love what you do with your pencils... Do you use photo refs, or just study the faces and such a lot?
(btw- the husband says he weird: He want's the monkey's autograph! LOL)

LOL!!! I use photos that I find online. Unfortunately, I can't get them to sit and pose for me. Maybe one day I can become the famous portrait artist of the stars. LOL! But I'm not holding my breath!

The life of a prison teacher can get boring sometimes. I always keep my pad and pencils handy!
