Description This is a study for my Book Arts class, in which I have had to pick a 19th or 20th century book artist (lithographer, engraver, typographer, etc) and emulate their style while illustrating a fable. I've chosen stonecarver and typographer Eric Gill and his Golden Cockerel Bible for my inspiration. The bible is filled with some very fine 'inhabited' capitals (I hesitate to say illuminated capitals because they lack color) and my fable involves a sower.

This is the mockup for the page I'm creating. I'm going to somehow execute this in photopolymer and print from a single plate onto a single sheet of paper to create a folio page with an art partner. My Sower One and Sower Two are supposed to be versions of the guy going inside the A. The fable, for those of you who are interested, is called "The Dove and the Flax."
