Your art is easy on the eyes while maintaining a clear style and intricate designs, where do you draw inspiration from?

Thank you! Unfortunately that question is not so straightforward to answer for me these days anymore. In the past I really admired and drew from Genndy Tartakovsky, Bruce Timm, Mike Mignola, and others. Nowadays it's rather frustrating and I've been trying to go back to the basics more than anything. I want to work towards a new style and body of work since I feel I have become stale. -u-;

I know the feeling, I like to think that pushing myself to try a new style just means that I'm stretching that brain elasticity and keeping my mind fresh. Thanks for replying!

The hair and mid-torso armor reminds me of Khal Drogo.

What do you think of Black Desert so far?  What I saw from the previews looked impressive.

It has a very different feel from other MMOs I've played thus far (not another WoW clone), and since it's Korean there's naturally a lot of grinding. |D The graphics are gorgeous too! I like to play it from time to time since it feels like a break away from most MMOs and it has its own aesthetic appeal. Definitely not for everyone though.

Dothraki are neat and are always a compliment!

What I have seen of the combat suggests real-time inputs without auto-attacks.  Is that accurate?
Grinding games is the national pastime of Korea.  haha  I can deal with grinding if the game play is fun and the reward is significant.
The art reminds me of the Final Fantasy MMOs but with fewer belts.

Yes, I think it's combat system is one of the best out there. There's no real auto-attack, and certain skills can even be re-used multiple times (their effectiveness is just reduced if you spam them). I think that's why the grindyness in BDO works more than usual; the combat system is fun and involves you constantly rather than waiting for CDs.

Originally I think BDO had a more medieval fantasy presence, but the costumes from cash shop and such tend to spoil that.

That sounds pretty good.  I like games with real-time action that let me choose my actions similar to fighting games.  That is why I could never get into World of Warcraft.  If I am going to wait to attack then I will just play a turn-based RPG because they have better animations and more satisfying combat.

Have you tried the original Dragon's Dogma (also an MMO out there now)?  I think you would like its combat style.  You have light attacks, heavy attacks, grabbing, blocking and dodging for some, and special abilities that expend stamina when used.  You can switch between two weapons to change your basic attacks and available special abilities.  There are also no cooldowns, but some moves have a casting time.

That tends to happen.  Ancient texts decree that every Asian-made game must have the option to turn your character into a maid or clothe them entirely in belts.  XD

Don't think I've ever heard of it. Sounds interesting!

And yeah, you're about right. - u -; Was hoping to avoid that in BDO, but I think all asian MMOs draw the anime crowd regardless of its graphics.

I may be biased towards liking Dragon's Dogma because I played it for a whole summer.  haha  I was on New Game+++ by the time I finally found everything and got bored because nothing in the world could stop me, not even my natural enemy, cliffs.
The combat, enemy AI, and day-night cycle are the game's strengths.  The story (with small exceptions), NPCs, and lack of real multiplayer are its faults.  The opening story that starts your adventure and the events leading up to the endgame seem to have received the entire budget for writing, animation, and acting.
You are the chosen one, the Arisen, a youth who had his heart ripped from his chest by the dragon of legends, and lived.  The Arisen always comes when the dragon appears about once every one hundred years.  The dragon threatens the entire kingdom with legions of monsters and calamities wrought by heaven.  Your quest is to defeat the dragon, save the kingdom, and reclaim your stolen heart.  Summoned souls called pawns will aid the Arisen on his journey; you have one personal pawn, and all other pawns are the personal companions of other Arisen online.  Summoned pawns will fight, learn, and acquire items for their masters.
-
If you every play the game you should try to summon Aan'Allein, my warrior pawn.  I made him look like the book character with the same name.  The cost of summoning is determined by the level difference between the summoner and the pawn.  Lower levels cost nothing and higher levels can cost many thousands of summoning points.  Summoning my dude when you are at level one would probably cost over one million points because he is level 127, but you have a goal to work for!  I don't even know how much grinding you would have to do to reach the maximum level of 200.

It's like that movie Field of Dreams.  "If you build it they will come."

Yeah, I always have trouble deciding on armor ideas and placement when designing my characters.

End up looking like a jumbled mess.

It's definitely not something easy to do. Best way to go about it I think is simplifying it down to the most notable elements, and seeing how other artists approach the problem as well.

That sounds like a way I wanted to start it or usually do. Draw out the character, but naked, then give them a basic undercloth and then pile on depending on genre and occupation. The only thing is knowing when to stop adding.

Not enough pouches and hidden  knives.

Appreciate the tip, though.
