This 10 layered map of hogwarts is based mostly upon the movie versions of the castle, with afew adjustments. Then the inside of the castle is set out as accurately as possible according to the books. So it is a mixture of both sources with abit of imagination thown in to.
This Map took many hours to research, plan and draw, so it would be appreciated if you did not take these images and use them anywhere else outside this club without asking permission first. thankyou.

I like the way you've tried to reconcile the film castle with the book description by having the entrance hall between the great hall and the courtyard as it is in the books. Just wondering why you added a courtyard and a bridge in front of the hall though as in the books the entrance hall opens out onto the lawn.Β

Very well done maps.
Personally, I would like to see symbols to indicate the locations of the Maurader's Map secret passages & the gauntlet path from below the 3rd floor "Fluffy" guarded trap door, past the other obstacle rooms to where Harry found the Philosopher's Stone. Then again, considering Hogwarts is always changing, it is entirely possible that these were simply "temporary" magical constructs by Dumbledore & his Staff. Or it may be possible the trap door led into a secret side passage into the Room of Requirement (although I'm not sure that would have worked very well).

Well, Rowling never showed a map in her books, app. to avoid getting tired down to one concept.
I did a map of Domdaniel,in the Black Forest (suddenly shifted to Canada and once to a pocket universe, before returning to the Black Forest. I forget someΒ details). I only had to shift a few things. One major change was the cluttered attic was replaced by administrative offices in the last 5 years. There were even instances where objects got shifted in time.

Itβs actually pretty good, but I donβt know I how I feel about the entrance hall with the clock tower placed next to the great hall. It just makes more sense if it replaced what you call the Β»West WingΒ«, like it is in the movies. Iβm not sure but do the books actually speak about it being set next to the great hall?
