Yes, rose is some kind of vector... hmm... probably
This is old work where I used only gradients and a lot of pen tool (one petal on one layer)

How did you work the gradient on the rose?

U need to try your own way. I used it sometimes more than once on one petal, changed opacity and if somethings wrong (too much color or bent on petal) I used eraser tool.
