The foul entity Gurath that haunts the dark woods near the rural hill and mountain regions of Morgulia grants many gifts from health and extended life, to increased vitality and fecundity, to fertile crops and plump livestock, to speed and safety when traveling through the woodlands, to plague and decay visited upon the worshipper's rivals. All these gifts and more are promised by dark whispers from deep within the woodlands but not without a cost. Gurath desires worship, adoration, and the sacrifice of living flesh. Often these sacrifices can be as simple as mere spittle, sweat, and reproductive fluids. During times of great import however, such as the creation of one of the dreaded Black Emissaries, Gurath demands blood and fleshly delight and the cult will bring a living sacrificial victim, often a kidnapped youth from a neighboring village, to offer unto the towering creature in the name of dread Gurath.
