The Knights Errant Uniforms
Upon joining either the Knights or the Deceivers, each recruit is issued with an Errant Star made of threading taken from manes and tails of wild Ritari that share the recruit's rank. When a recruit bonds with a Ritari they have the option to have their star remade with their own Ritari's threading. The star hangs proudly on the left breast of a Knight, displaying their current rank; the star for the Deceivers hangs pointing down on the left breast, always obsidian.

The standard pattern coat is fitted, with hidden buttons down the front middle, a high upstanding collar, and partially-cut-away tails down to the knee and split at the back. It is trimmed with threading of the rider's rank; the cuffs are turned back and covered by the same threading. Riders may wear torso clothing of their preference under their coats; choices include but are not limited to: dress shirts, t-shirts and vests. The standard jodhpurs/breeches are white, and the standard footwear is steel-toed long black riding boots.

At all times when on duty the members of the Knights Errant are expected to wear their uniform. This is composed of the standard coat in deep blue, and standard jodhpurs/breeches and boots. A knight wears their uniform with pride: it is an instant identifier to others and unites all members of the society to the cause of justice and honour. Because of this, though there is often some modification to the uniform by individual knights, it is always kept recognisable.

The Deceivers' uniform closely resembles the Knights'. However, the coat is of black and of course trimmed with obsidian threading. Also issued as standard is a long, black, hooded cloak, fastened with a string of obsidian threading. For many Deceivers it is rare to see them in uniform outside of formal occasions (such as advancement to the next tier), as some find them too restrictive and orderly; for these either a modified uniform or complete personal choice of clothing is worn.

Tack
Everyday (non-ceremonial) tack is a personal choice by the riders. English tack is often used for its suitability for the pairs’ duties, but there is frequently variation.

The Herald is the metal string that all tacked up Ritari carry for formal or semi-formal occasions, and it attaches from the saddle to clasp around the tailbone of the Ritari. It displays the pair’s accumulated medals or trophies.
