Description Context to this image: every time I play ME3, Ashley and Kaidan get on my nerves constantly doubting Shepard. This image represents some of the crew giving Kaidan a long needed lesson on trust.

Ash I can forgive. Once you listen to her whole story in ME1 she is understandable.

Kaidan's story is ok but the way the part was written in ME 1... geeze ... I just stopped talking to him because he is like classic guy who thinks you're his girl friend  because  you are civil with him. In ME2 and ME3 he is just a jerk. I keep him around only for the Armax Arsenal challenge.

With Ashley, too many people confuse what I like to call "political distrust" with racism. Sure Ash distrusts Garrus because he is a Turian, but is it because A.) as a Turian he is a humanoid velociraptor, or B.) as a Turian he was born and raised in a militaristic hierarchy that didn't exactly start off on the right foot with humanity. The right answer is B.; which makes her distrust bear more resemblance to the kind between the Russians and the Americans during the Cold War, which is NOT racism.

As a guy who follows chivalry, I always save Ashley.

I saw ash now also. If you take her to the casino, she has the funniest lines and her interactions with Shep are much better than Kaiden IMO.

Jack still has the most touching moments in the Citadel DLC.

I certainly agree that Ashley is better than Kaidan, but reading all the comments on this piece and a couple of others I've done, Allers leads the way for most hated character.

But the thing is, I like Ashley, its Kaiden who I find troubling. To be honest, it's not that I dislike Kaidan, I just think Bioware could have made him more likeable. Garrus and Tali have been in all 3 Games and are arguably Shepard's closest friends and/or partners, yet they are supportive of Shepard all the way. More importantly, they are interesting characters in their own right. If Kaidan had have been more like Garrus, he might have been a fan favourite.

Well I can understand that in the first game, but after the ME2's DLC with her, I think she is awesome!

I don't understand it either I don't have a single problem with her romanced or not she is the very reason Shepard is alive in ME2 and with LOTSB she actually has a better reason not to join Shepard unlike Kaiden or Ashley with this whole I don't trust you vibe they got going

Yeah, how dare the Virmire Survivor have some distrust with Shepard? I mean, because people *totally* come back to life two years after death, and Cerberus is really on the up and up. They're just being whiny bitches! [/sarcasm]

Right? And from what I'm told, people can come back to life. If we want to doubt them, that is our own problem, not theirs.

You dislike Kaidan so why put this in the Kaidan Alenko fans group?

Also, in both his and Ashley's defence, they were right to be sceptical of Shepard, she came back from the dead (you know, that happens every day right?), she's mechanically enhanced and she even had a clone!  Don't forget there's indoctrination and a traitor councillor in ME3 as well.  It's not an easy task to just 'trust' someone in those kinds of conditions.

Firstly I put it in the Kaidan Alenko fan group because he is a character we love to hate.

Secondly, I'm not saying that Ashley and Kaiden do not have valid reasons for their scepticism of Shepard, but that doesn't mean we then like their behaviour. They are still rather annoying. However to their credit, I thought they were interesting and likeable characters in the first game so I have some leeway for them.

How do you think Alenko would react being diched on an uncharted planet for two weeks?

I don't know I find Allers FAR more annoying then Kaidan and Ashley put together.

hososoki In reply to screwinon [2013-09-02 09:50:10 +0000 UTC]

The thing is, Ashley is only annoying over the Cerberus nonsense, otherwise I think she is a cool character. But Kaidan is always very boring. If there is enough Allers hate, I might have do make another image with her in Kaidan's place.

screwinon In reply to hososoki [2013-09-02 11:50:21 +0000 UTC]

I think Kaidan becomes a lot more interesting in the third game. Or at least for those people who find out he's bisexual. Sure he's boring, but he never insulted my intellect. Allers meanwhile, her very existence aggravates me to NO END. She's a romance in the worst possible way. The woman isn't interesting, nor intelligent, or even a deep complex character, she's just a bitch you can sleep with. Hell, she's not even that hot. Looking like a mutated chipmunk most of the time. The woman has the personality of toilet paper, and the very thought that Bioware thought putting Jessica Chabot in their game was a good idea continues to baffle me.

Never liked Kaiden; wish you had Garrus, Liara, or Miranda instead of Diana Allers, though

hososoki In reply to BlackRain1678 [2013-09-02 09:46:18 +0000 UTC]

Trouble with that is I tend to play as a paragon and that tends to make Garrus and Liara more paragon. Therefore I felt you had to have someone less likeable for this and as you suggest, Allers fits this criteria.
