Originally, this was going to be an Xmass present, but I kept forgetting/was too lazy to submit it to DA. But recently (or rather longer then just recently) my best friend ~immortalmina has been really down (and with good reasons, but none of those will be mentioned here) lately, so now is a good as a time to post this as any.
Years ago, ~immortalmina was working on a vampire story of which I was allowed to read the first three chapters, but I don't think she ever finished it. I was rereading those chapters around mid-December and decided to draw one of the main characters named "Jewels" (the Queen of the Vampires) for her. So I grabbed a pose reference and quickly drew this up in about an hour...and it shows. All I keep seeing are the mistakes (Jewels would probably be doing some serious boobs and butt pose if I hadn't cropped out some of the bottom and then grunged and bokeh'd the entire piece to death.). My old drawing teacher would probably kill me for not sketching thumbnails prior, but damnit I was on a roll!
And now ~immortalmina knows why I was re-reading her old story...and then pointed out an anachronism in there. Sorry. Er...I hope you like the arts anyway. ^.^;
And DA's new submission page is nice and shiny...but it confuses the Hell out of me.

No, maybe it's my style that makes you see a similarity.
Jewels doesn't even show leg. hell, I read the first drafts for ~immortalmina 's (who this character belongs to) story back in 2003, so even if there was a similarity, Jewels design predates the troll version of MLW at least. O_o;
Jewels wears black leather pants, biker boots, ONE black leather glove, and a belt that's large enough to hanging off one hip with stakes fastened to it.

I think it looks wonderful. Makes me with I could get my old copy and work on it again. I was at 80 pages and as you know that's pretty big for me. I wasn't even close to being done either. Anyway, I like the eye effect and all the purple works well. I also like how she is realistic but still comic like. It's a wonderful style for you. It's okay, cause at least I was off by 25 years I'm sure it was the website I had used at the time. Liars. This does make me feel better wish you were here! *hug:

I'm glad you like the pic. I don't want to go full-on realism, but I would like to get back to the semi-realistic comic style I had back in highschool before anime gained popularity here.
Well, in your defense there were smaller outbreaks of the Plague for hundreds of years after the Black Death, but if you were referring to the main Black Death, that was between 1348 and 1350, having reached London Fall 1348, and pretty much took over the country by summer 1349. I've done a bit of research on the Plague in College (so far, two essays, a PowerPoint, and a video) and I have Plague Doctor Timmy now (although he didn't get his Plague Doctor outfit untilso I hope I know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I like the look as it would fit as a good cover if you added the boys. Although, I would draw you their symbol so you would know how to draw it.

It might be fun. Maybe you could sketch the boys for me and I can make you a cover at some point. I have to find some stocks that are okay for commercial use though...and a good free for commercial use font for a possible logo.
Yeah you weren't off. I say Jewel's back story either happened during on of the smaller outbreaks or during the date I said.

Yeah, you need a Word program, which is why OpenOffice is really good, and you can save your files as .doc files in it too, which is really good when you're going back and forth from school and you need to use a computer with only word. >.>;
Well, once you do some concept doodles, maybe you can send me the True Blood pic as reference and I can take a crack at it.
Well, Phoenixes story still tool place Before Common Era, didn't it? History during that time frame can be tweaked a bit. Here's an interesting bit for you. There was a "Plague of Athens" that hit around Phoenix' time, and it's been speculated to be a form of Bubonic Plague.

I remember you mentioning the dolls, but I never saw them otherwise I'd probably have kept them myself. I mean I got SailorCancer's hair wrong in the art I did of her so I'd like to get your other OCs right. Sure I drew Jewels' hair down here but...I didn't realize she'd kept it in a ponytail. ^.^;
I can't remember the exact date, but I used this as a backdrop for Ravinica's back story and she now has story ties with Timmy. ^.^;

The files might still be able to be recovered though. Usually when a compuiter is fried the Ethernet card/modem and power supply are the first to get fried up.

lol Possibly. She dates a detective vamp called Brick and then there is my fave vamp with no memory Amnesia. She only remembers when she drinks blood, because of how she was turned, but she never remembers to drink it.
