Description Standing at 7 feet and 10 inches, FemFury really is a big one. Dragon looks so small next to FemFury so like Dragon I am really glad FemFury is one of the good guys.

If I had any type of drawing skills, I'd do stuff like that. If I'm looking at something I can recreate it, but I don't know how to draw off the top of my head. Which sucks because I have lots of characters running thru my head at any given time. Is Diamond your character, btw?? I like the look of her as well.

Hey...I've been drawing for 20 plus years and I still use photo reference to recreate a piece. The poses for the drawing featuring Dragon, Diamond, and Soul Train was taken from a cover of an old magazine of mine. I wish that I could draw from memory all the time, but after much council from my peers here on DA that have taken extensive classes and such (I'm virtually self-taught) photo ref. is an artist's best friend.

I'd say just give it a go...there are a lot of art technique books out there and that's how I learned; I recommend anything by Christopher Hart. Either that or if you like the particular style of an artist (Jim Lee and J. Scott Campbell are some of my biggest influences) then emulate them and try to create your own style with theirs as a base. Of course, it's gonna take time and practice but if you stick with it you'll continue to grow and grow as an artist!

That's great advice, but like Alanis Morissette said in her song "Ironic". It's the good advice that you just can't take. If I were still in my 20's, I'd actually give it a shot. However, I'm now in my 30's (damn time flies) and really haven't had any type of training into it whatsoever. I think it's kinda late for me to try to get into it like that. I think I'll just stick to writing and coming up with character ideas and commissioning ppl to draw them for me.

It's never too late man! If you want to learn, what's stopping you? Sure, I wish that I had gotten into the technical aspect of drawing and all that good stuff at a younger age...but I didn't start getting serious about getting better at my art until I was 27. I'm 30 now, and my skills have grown by leaps and bounds...not trying to brag, but look at the growth in 3 years Then: [link] [link] Now: [link] By no means am I anywhere near pro skill level, but I worked hard to get where I am today and am still working hard to go even further! But if you're fine with where you're at, then it's all good!

Who knows. Maybe one day, I will sit down and say let's give it a go. We'll see what fate holds in store for me. For now, I'll write.
