Yup and some glue to hold it together.
Well technically, (if your question is referring to what type of paper instead of if it's all made out of paper) it's actually colored computer-type paper. So the color is on both side instead of just one and slightly heavier then regular origami paper.

A couple weeks to a month or two? Mostly because it was a completely new design. The actual work only took about two weeks but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I was going to attach everything and smaller details like whether I was going to make the wings just cut out of paper or if I was going to attempt to make them out of triangles.
The actual request from a friend was made a year in advance but I didn't start until January and didn't finish it until the first week of March. *cough cough*

Oh yeah. In fact I was convinced it looked nothing like Ulquiorra until the wings went on. My dad kept giving me these 'ehhh it doesn't really look like him' face every time I asked him. (But he doesn't know how Ulquiorra is....) *laughs* Thanks 8D

Haha thank you! I loved your jack *0* I've been meaning to ask, does he stand on his own? If so how do you do it? xD Every time I try and make something stand on its own, the legs curve a little pfft it's like a 25% it'll actually do it (Chocobos... OTL Of the ones that I have left, one stands, one likes to do nose dives and the other is definitely crippled)

Jack stands on a platform there are wires that are in his legs connecting him to the base. But yes he stands up on his own but with a base and some bottom support.
Do you glue your pieces together? Not enough glue could be the reason for the legs curving.
I'm curious about one thing... What do you mean by OTL?

Ah wires! I didn't think about that. I thought about using the base but always end up conflicted on what would be best. It didn't help that only until recently did I find my paint. lol
I do glue them together. It probably has to do with the fact that the triangles seem to naturally curve too. I keep them together in rings of circles practically because of this. Maybe I need to build a mode to keep them straight if I ever revisit the design.

I didn't think of the wires either, my sister's fiance thought of the idea. Oh, I don't paint my projects. But that would be an issue.
Awe I sort of figures out a way to straighten the models but the glue has to be wet. It's sort of an easy technique but it's one that I use a lot. If you want I can explain it to you.

Well before it dries I just simply take the piece and press the curved part against a flat surface. Seems easy right? It kinda is... and that's how I am able to get a lot of my projects flat looking.

Exactly! But wood can be expensive to buy after awhile or you'll have to buy it in bulk and then personally cut each base. xD Might be more work.

Yes it can be expensive. Cutting the piece could benefit you.

Yeah. At least you wouldn't have to worry about what size it is. You can cut down to exactly what you need.
