Rhys is the second youngest of his parent’s seven children, and the middle child of the three that are still living. Growing up was rough, and upon his high school graduation he realized he never thought he’d make it that far. Now he needed to decide what he was going to do with the rest of his life.

So naturally, he joins the police force, for the same reason anyone else does - or so he assumed. He joined to save lives, to make communities safer so families wouldn’t be afraid to leave their own homes. To help others make better life choices, and be a source of protection for those who felt like they had none.

The reality of his time with the NCPD has been the opposite of everything he’d hoped it would be. Many officers are bastards that take bribes and hurt people, and through inaction, allow others to be hurt. Under the guise of public safety, many act as violent agents of corporations, ruin many lives, and make the public no safer. Any time he’s brought issues to internal affairs, it’s only made them set their sights on him. Being seen as a liability by his fellow policemen definitely has not earned him any favors.

But enough is enough. Nothing is changing, reforms aren’t working, and any action he takes to do the right thing never seems to be enough. Just when he thought he’d lost all hope, he fatefully meets a rockerboy who just seems to say all the right things. Like him, Aaron sees the unfairness and corruption of their world and demands a change. Rhys believes in his vision wholly, and perhaps a bit too readily. His new companion gives him hope that the city and the people who inhabit it aren’t too far gone to save. Aaron divulges very few details about his plan - says it’s for Rhys’s own safety. Whatever Aaron’s reason would have been, he wasn’t going to question it. Luckily, Rhys doesn’t need the details to make his connections to the police and information in their databases useful, though he would be in a massive amount of trouble if he was ever caught…
