Description
Ever since I made that cloud kirin a while back, I've been itching to tackle the theme again. I wasn't satisfied with the original cloud mane and I thought it deserved another attempt. This unicorn was the result. Her body is made in my signature watercolor style, but I used translucent clay instead of white as the base, so she has a soft glow. I decided to scatter some silver foil across the blue to add a bit of interest, and added a silver horn and hooves. I really love the slight curve to the horn, and I suspect that is a design choice that will show up in future sculpts. And of course, she's got the white, cloudy hair. I think the cloud theme could still use some work, but I do like the big chunky curls.
I don't name my pieces all that often, but for this one, the name was obvious. What better name for a cloud-themed unicorn than Silver Linings?
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, alcohol ink, silver gilding foil, silver chrome pigment, and handmade glass eyes. This unicorn has been sold.
