Posterra is a ruin. It is known to all, that the many realms all around the blasted globe seen enough conflict over the ages to litter the ground with the debris of dead civilization in layers so dense and running so deep that you can seemingly go on forever into the bowels of the earth to dig out more and more ancient secrets. And yet, despite all that, the civilization creeps in like a fungus, like an infection that just doesn’t know where to give up, and the many kin and folks of Posterra once again gather and clumps together to strive for more, to build their cities, raise walls, establish territories and create imaginary borders. Nonetheless, such pockets of progress are still relatively fresh in this age, scattered far and wide… For most who live on the face of this cursed globe, nomadic life is often the norm, or living in tiny hamlets housing a few families at best, forming simple tribes of blood relatives or tradition. And for them, the role of a scavenger is still as important as ever – they prowl the dangerous lands, they face insurmountable challenges and fight monsters and horrors aplenty! – or so they like to say when weaving their tales, but the truth isn’t far off from any tall tale of glory. Their job is a true calling, filled with dangers, and they often alone dive headlong into cursed, forsaken places to find new paths, to uncover new resources or to find something of great value they can offer back either to their people or to the highest bidder.
