So this counts as art right?Because this is my lame excuse for not doing anything artistic recently, I've been busy making this for the past week or so. However this was a ton of fun to make (except for the stripes, three times replacing those is my limit), and I'm thrilled with how the horns came out.
So yeah, this is what I've been up to. XD

Haha not particularly, if I recall correctly most of the cloak was trial and error.
What worked for me was physically taking the grey cloth and placing it on the scalemate and putting pins where I wanted to sew it. I think I ended up making 3 pined places, one at the front to make the hole for the head, and two near the back to give it a hood shape. For the two at the back I just folded the cloth together and put in a couple stitches to hold it up. Finally I folded the edges of the cloth ever itself a little bit and sewed it so the edges were smoother, you can actually see those stitches in the photos. After that was done I just put the hood on the scalemate and poked holes in the fabric where the horns went. The red yarn was added after the holes were in and that was just me messing around with the yarn.

oh! Well for starters, I used this pattern here: [link] and here [link] and here [link] and just sewed it up like I thought it should go (any typical sewing tutorial will tell you the basic stitch and to keep it inside-out while you sew). The only tricky part was the horns, which are sculpy clay coated in a polisher so they shine. To attach them I bought these small stupidly expensive little button clips, like on the buttons on jeans. I baked the sculpy around one end and put the other half the inside before snapping them together. For the cape I mainly just screwed around until it looked right, but I lucked out really.
