I saw this and had to give you a critique! You can give me one back, if you want to. This is so awesome. I've never seen a sketch that captures a baby hatching. You captures all of his scales on his body. That's great detail. The sand looks great too, full of texture. His eye had a gleam, that makes it look glossy. That's very cool. I noticed a lot of people make theirs look flat, and yours is 3 dimentional. You also, captured the cracks in his head perfectly. Can't forget how his shell is peeling, it looks so realistic.

Awesome rendering of this birth of a crocodile. Love the pencil quality and I love the life in it.
There are a couple of suggestions I have though. I would like to see to more range in values. I would usually suggest to add a background for pieces but it seems to work for yours. The way you tackled the ground underneath the egg was magnificent.

My suggestions would be to work a little on your form of the crocodile. This is a great piece and should be looked at as such. Really you just need to keep drawing.
