Noah grew up thinking knights were the coolest. When she played with her friends, they were all princesses and she would have to rescue them as the knight. Even the girliest boy Billy had to be a princess because Noah would not accept him as her rival.

Unfortunately, the women in her castle town were not allowed to become apprentice knights. At one point in her teen years, Noah got into an argument with her father over her future and ran off into the woods. There, she stumbled upon a cave filled with dragons. Of course, Noah is still ignorantly brave and can only think of how cool it would be to ride one. Luckily, this was the home of a dragon tamer and the wounded dragons of their pack. He informs her of the danger involved with dragons and the duty that comes with knighthood. This only strengthens her determination.
