I recently tried out this little Capcom Gem on my GB emulator and I fell in love with it so far. It seems like a challenging little platformer with lovable characters and exploration.

The main character, Shantae, is a half-genie who's job is to protect some seaside town, and it gets raided by Riskyboots, a female pirate who thinks she owns the sea, and commands these little black pirate creatures.... since when is it a Genies job to protect something? Whats wrong with granting wishes? She also seems to live in her own house, and no lamp or bottle or anything like that. And she attacks with her hair...instead of magic. All that aside, it really does seem like a nice little game.

I hear they are making a wiiware sequel ( or is it a remake? ) I think I will be keeping an eye on Shantae.

Oh yeah.

There seems to be some kind of Dance function if you press select. And it really does look goofy. But it makes me smile. You can change her dance by pressing different buttons. ..... I still don't know what it's for though.
