Exactly.
"imperator" would also have been a great specific name, though. After all, emperors are more powerful than kings.
Either way, its generic name still refers to a type of ruler and that alone speaks greatly of the animal's majesty and might.

Easier to handle, I guess?
But then again, that's odd, because the T. rex is of the few animals well known by the general public by its binomial name.
Which one?

Thanks!!
I... try. But, to be honest, I'm very lazy, and while I enjoy detailing and ornamenting their heads, I lose someinterest in the rest of the body and background. Still working on it, though.

Hah! I completely disagree with that T-Rex is a scavenger! It's impossible for a predator that weighs 6-8 tons to feed solely on dead flesh! Animals don't die very often and its impossible for it to eat alone on rotting flesh. T-Rex's designs show that its a predator since it has binocular vision (what we have), to be able to locate its prey and by Catscans(spelling?) that it used eyesight well and was a strategized predator to engage against other prey like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus! I do believe it would scavenge at times when it couldn't make a successful kill when it wasted too much energy on hunting, but its impossible for it be solely a scavenger. I hate Jack Horner and his stupidity!

Whoa. I always love it when I find someone like-minded.
Exactly that is what I was trying to say in the description. Every single one of the Tyrannosaurus' adaptations to a predatorial lifestyle is,by any standard, badass. The large brain, the hypertrophied olfactory bulb, the eyes pointing forward instead of sideways, its biomechanics... really, everything points to a true hypercarnivore, not just some glorified vulture. The T. rex may a well be the reason Ankylosaurus and Triceratops developed such amounts of defenses and grew so large, just to stand a fighting chance.
And I absolutely hate Horner. Discovering a dinosaur nesting site does not entitle you to throw absurd theories to smash everyone's childhood dreams.

I agree. T-Rex was an efficient predator which more than likely through its time period of its family became more and more powerful. From Guan Long to the mighty T-Rex became the best dino predator family ever lived!

Ah. Cierto.

[link]
