Description The island of Lemuria is a miniature lost world in the vast unexplored world of Hypoemtasia, as it is home to some of the more bizarre and less-known fauna in the world of Hypoemtasia, ie: the Armocollornis, the Lemuriatitan, the Lemuriavenator and the Gorillosuchus. The aforementioned faunas are the biggest residents of the island, however there are some small critters that also managed to garner the attention of the Hypoemtasian zoological community, particularly one mahajangasuchid that made the forests of the island of Lemuria its habitat.

Measuring only around 60 to 80 centimeters long and weighing between 6 to 8 kilograms, the Fossasuchus is one of the smallest member in the mahajangasuchid family. Like their more well known Afrotasian relative, the Arbrosuchus, the Fossasuchus resides at the forest canopies of Lemuria, making the Fossasuchus one of the two arboreal mahajangasuchids in the world of Hypoemtasia. Due to their small body mass and size, this makes the Fossasuchus more agile and nimble which allows them to move swiftly from branch-to-branch, in comparison with the larger Arbrosuchus that can only move by leaping from trunk-to-trunk. All members possess a coloration of either drab or brown green and earth yellow, with some of their scales a hint of dark brown, yellow, and yellow green. Due to their compact skull and the pair of horns above the brow horn which resembles that of a cat (with their status as creatures from local folklore in the world of Hypoemtasia) when viewed from the front, they were given the scientific name of "Fossasuchus gracilis" by the Hypoemtasian zoological community, which means "gracile cat crocodile". The crocodylomorphs communicate via emitting a series of high-pitch calls that can be heard up to 30 meters.

Solitary predators, they prefer to hunt on their own as the presence of another Fossasuchus, regardless of its gender, will lead to both individuals fighting one another. A Lemurian counterpart of Austrotasia's drop-bear, the Fossasuchus will climb and leap from tree to tree using their powerful limbs and track their would-be prey stealthily for hours, before descending from the treetops and using their short but sharp teeth and the momentum gained from the fall and stun and pin down their prey. Fortunately, they only hunt frogs, lizards, snakes, sometimes birds and even small furry critters. Sometimes they would also feast on the carcass of the 4 giants of the island if they are able to find one, however they will try their luck on the hatchlings of the 4 giants of the island when the opportunity arises.

Like the Arbrosuchus, they rarely intrude into any area where humans are present, as they seemed to know that they are not a match against something larger and heavier than them several times and capable of unleashing destruction unto their environment. Regardless, the Fossasuchus themselves were demonized by the Lemurians as creatures that will kill whomever that looked into the eyes of the creeper, which stained their reputation until the arrival of both the Atlantenian and the Occidentian scientists brought by the colonial forces during the peak of the Golden Exploration Era, which helped to prove their capability to kill someone by merely looking into their eyes to be a mere myth.

Inspired by the Tree Creeper (in some ways); based on the Araripesuchus and the fossa, Madagascar's largest extant predator.
You can say the Fossasuchus is something that has been in my mind for quite some time, being some sort of continuation from the idea of an arboreal crocodylomorph that I have worked on several months ago, which is the Arbrosuchus (Hypoemtasia Bestiary - Arbrosuchus )

Hold on to your butts BOIs and GURLs
More GUUD stuff to come sooon!
