Many thanks! Funny enough the falconry place is right below some busy RAF training airspace. CH-47s and Westland Lynx helicopters kept buzzing overhead; and the birds do get very curious. The kestrel was actually staring at a Westland Lynx the moment this photo was taken.

I wonder where you were exactly. If it was benson, odiham or the like... The Chinooks always turn heads, even with us fellow brits who see the RAF flying them almost every day of the week. No wonder the bird was curious

I was at Sherfield on Loddon; according to the falconry owner, flyovers occur almost on a daily basis. It really was a real treat being there; I had never set eyes upon a Westland Lynx in the flesh until then!
