Description

Don't worry Brazil, you lost the FIFA World Cup but therefore you have tapejarids! Sounds like a good deal to me.
Here a quick (40 min) watercolor/drawing of Caiuajara dobruskii in flight and as a portrait. This new pterosaur, with up to 2,4 m wingspan, was discovered as a swarm, 47 individuals are uncovered so far, with juveniles and adults alike. The fossils were found in an interdunal lake deposit (lake within a desert) which souds for me like a good place to lay your eggs as a pterosaur (warm sand, water and food, not much large predators...)

Any idea how so many pterosaurs could have died at once in the same place? Lovely work by the way

I read somewhere about a theory but can't remember... look at the paper?

Do you mind if I use this in a blog post, with proper credit to you? The only other current restoration is shrink wrapped and has an outdated crest.

Anyway, great restoration of my new favorite pterosaur.... and thanks for the reminder to check Plos One more often...
