I came across theΒ Critique4Critique journal and this picture immediately caught my attention.Β

The concept is nice and touchy. I love fabric and its color and the folds and theΒ textureΒ and how the model and the fabric is treated in the picture.
But the only things I think has still room for improvement are:
1. the background tone and color; if only the background was a little darker than how it is now and warmer in tone
2. the composition of the picture; if the model was a little more in the right side of the frame

these were the only things i could point out. But I have to say that this is a great capture and beautiful concept <3

Hello! I am from young-photo-club 's Critique 4 Critique program.

It truly is a haunting photo. His expression and the shadowy hand were captured perfectly. The light and dark halves of the photo also create an interesting effect on the atmosphere. There is some noise in the dark portions and some weird markings on the wall there too, but they can be edited away in a program. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the comment.
I am aware of both the noise and the wall markings, and alas, they are intentional.
I thought that the grain made it feel older and the scratching on the wall gave it the feel I was going for.

Thank you, my friend.

I saw this posted in the Critique4Critique journal of a group and I figured I'd render some words.
First off, this image caught my right away. I love it! It could be in better quality, but at the same time I can appreciate the grainy texture as it gives the photograph an older feel. Very good work!

I have to admit that the quality is indeed to add to the seeming age of the photo.
Thank you.

I really love the dusty quality in this picture ^_^~. The soft lighting really helps to create shadows in the folds of the fabric. I also really enjoy that the hand and the right side of the image is darker than the rest of the picture. It is somewhat haunting but also slightly desperate in a way... almost like he is trying to escape. Over all great image!

Thank you. You don't know how hard it is to go up to your friend and go "Hey, look. I'm going to need you to take off your shirt and put this curtain on your head. Yeah. For art."

The fear of being thought of as completely off your rocker.

I fear oblivion, inadequacy, and depression. Not much else.
How about you?

Inadequacy rates right up there, the shame of not being quite good enough.
