Inessa had never been in a war. They never offered themself to protect so many wolves they'd never known before. Experiencing this for the first - and hopefully last - time... it grounded them in a way they never thought possible. They didn't know how to react, but they were tired, worn out beyond belief. What they did know was everyone surrounding them had losses to count for... even them. With so many of their friends, family members and fellow Domainians fallen victim to the Hive wolves' brutality, could the living remainder say they won at all?

I think the fact that this is my first non-collab since the Hive events picked up ends up representing how a lot of the adrenalin that Inessa had during the war, has now worn off. As things start to slow down, it hit just how much the Domain has lost due to this forsaken threat. Following the end of this group-wide plot, Nessa is a lot more likely to act as they did before the war, with their worse traits taking the forefront as they attempt to pretend they weren't abandoned again so soon.

Also, it was fun to finally use a real grass brush and make something warm and autumn, but still bleak. I should do stuff like this more often
