A MOC made a while ago for a Bionicle story I never finished.

While Malinia was leading the Resistance through a cave network, they were attacked by a Terror Mantis, incredibly large insect-Rahi known for their sheer savagery. Although many of the team were injured, Malinia was able to kill the beast...which was a mother only trying to protect her nest. The lone egg in the nest hatched and a baby Terror Mantis crawled out, confused as to his first sights. Feeling regret and sorrow at having killed something that was only trying to defend itself from intruders, Malinia took the baby Terror Mantis and raised it herself. He imprinted on her and was given the name Naran. Because Naran was raised by very different means, he was much more tame than others of his species. He was a loyal pet to Malinia, and even proved to be useful to the Resistance's cause. Even though Naran was still young and relatively small, he retained the basic instincts of a Terror Mantis. He was a savage fighter that would aid his surrogate "mother" as adamantly as any Resistance member.
Naran possessed lethal forelimbs, two stinging tails, and a venomous bite. He was also adapted to sense the darkness in beings and could detect Brotherhood forces before anyone else could.
