So cute! Was it all from hand or by sewing machine too?

Wow, it must be one damn good sewing machine then. xD
Mine can't do curves or angles. It's real old. x.X

That sounds very frustrating. Sewing machines SHOULD all be able to do curves and angles, but you need to pull the fabric through at a curve gently. Or if you're doing angles, you stop at the corner with the needle in, lift up the little metal feet, turn the fabric, then put the feet back down and continue on.
And actually, a lot of times the older machines are better! They made them so much nicer back in the day. I was using a new one all summer but it was much... jerkier. I just started using my mom's old machine that she got reserviced. It's from the 60s or 70s, but it's SO nice and smooth, aaaaah @.@

Well this one isn't nice at all. It's very bumpy, and breaks down a lot. For the longest time it stopped working. Now it works, but it's still very jerky and bumpy. I need to save up for a new one. All I can really make right now is clothes and pillows. I want to learn how to create plushies. But I have no idea what material to start with. *fails*

Oh dearrr D:
For plushies, the best materials are felt and fleece. :3

Oh ok, thanks. :]
I hope they have it at the local sewing stores, I'm pretty sure they do.

I adore all your plush works. If I knew how to make heads + bodies like that I'd make my own but FFFT IDK HOW LOL >.<

It takes a lot of trial and error to get a pattern that works right, haha. You should've seen my early failure heads/bodies. xD

Oh I bet it was labor intensive. I'm still sort of a child inside, the whole you see it in your head so INSTANT RESULTS NOW. xD
When anything that has to do with sewing doesn't work out right the first time for me I usually just FREAK OUT. AHHHH I HATE THIS I'M NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN *cries and breaks things*... I go back to it eventually... But you seem to have a thing for figuring these things out quickly enough. :3 AND THEY ALL COME OUT BEAUTIFULLY LONGCOMMENTISLONG~

god, I am totally a 10 year old at heart. I guess you kind of have to be to make things like plushies and fleece hats with ears and stuff. My childhood self would be so proud xD
AND DUDE. NO. ARE YOU KIDDING. I actually did the exact same thing several times. No one's seen all the behind-the-scenes plushie failures I had from this summer, but when I messed up I got so upset! It's so much harder to fix sewing things when you make a mistake, it's not just a painting you can paint over... and IDK, I feel so awful when I waste fabric like that D:
So yeah, I got upset a lot, but I bounced back every time. I think it's because the satisfaction of making something that turns out good balances out all the failure angst. >D

You are so right, but it's all still a lot of work. x3 I'm really scared when people ask me to make things for them. I want it to be MORE THAN PERFECT because they offer to pay me ;-; Just the whole 500 people asking for things freaks me out, I'm scared I won't have time for it all and I might die.

These just keep getting more amazing! The longer fur is a really great touch, and the baked clay worked fantastic. About how long did it take to make the claws/eyes/nose with the clay?

Hehe! I'm not really sure what the best way is. Paint has a way of looking kinda icky on the texture of fleece, so I dunno. :0

MOST of the fabric, I get from Joann's fabric store. They have a great selection of fleece colors, but not so much concerning faux fur. I just found THIS etsy store that has the most wonderful faux fur though, which is where I got the fur I used for this plush:

I was just coming to ask you where'd you get your fur, 'cause I need some reeeeaaaally long fur for a project of mine, too. I saw this, and went yay, now I can get it...but they don't have it white, and that's what I'd need. How come such a simple thing as real long white fur is so hard to find? O_O
Oh, and I also absolutely love this plushie, it has the most perfect look in it's eyes. You're very talented, keep on good work!

IceandSnow In reply to Auntie-Aku [2010-09-13 01:49:45 +0000 UTC]
They don't? Huh, that's odd. I actually ordered a mixed package of fur from them and there was white in it- which I used for this plush.
You could try messaging the person and asking about it?
And thanks <3

Around $50? I do plushies of this size for a base price of $40, + extra depending on how many extra details I need to do. xD
