Description I'm randomly appearing with an artwork again!

Did you see the second Hobbit movie? It was amazing! I especially loved how they depicted Smaug in it, his design and his character. In the end I couldn't help but draw him.

At the time I did not have much references aside of my memory of the movie (which he is based of), so I know there are things not quite accurate like the neck too short (even though this is not completely a side view so the perspective plays a role), etc.
I spent way too much time on this and there are still small mistakes, but it was a fun practice. Except those lava-like scales I remade like 3 times.

Non mais attends là?! D'où est-ce que tu sors tout ton talent?! Est ce que ça s'achète en boîte par hasard parce que sérieusement, j'en aurais vraiment besoin! xD

J'adore les films du Hobbit moi aussi, et j'ai vraiment hâte de voir le troisième qui sort en Décembre~ Je suis certaine qu'il sera à couper le souffle!

En tout cas, je ne remet pas en question ton merveilleux talent! Ce dessin est vraiment magnifique!

J'avoue que le talent n'aurait plus de valeur si c'était le cas! Donc, je vais aller continuer de m'améliorer dans l'art graphique car j'en ai vraiment besoin xD

Moi en tout cas, c'est sûr que je vais aller le voir à sa sortie! Impossible de faire autrement! xD

Sinon, il y a aussi le film How to train your dragon 2 que je veux aller voir à sa sortie! Je ne dois absolument pas manquer ça! C'est mon gros coup de coeur celui-là!

I am a vainglorious blowhard with the heart of a serial killer!   Excellent picture of movie-Smaug, it really plays up his base nature. I feel for you on the scales, WETA took a lot of time making him 3D in truth.

I grumbled through the large air-conditioned Elf palace, and Laketown-on-the-Dnepier, and then they got to the Mountain....and I was happy.

 Oh Smaug, cuddly as ever!

 His glowing veins were an awesome touch and I like that you incoporated that as well. Plus they add nice contrast against the darker background and scales. His eyes also stand out nicely and show his aggression. Also you did very well in defining his anatomy. He looks very beefy and strong! Like the muscles in his neck, wings, and chest. You also went through the trouble to render each individual tooth which really pays off. (espcially since I always full view!) Well done as always.

 I notice that the arm-winged design seems to be more and more popular. Though personally I think it makes himlook more like a wyvern or drake then full dragon though. But that aside he's still as impressive as you'd expect him to be. And Mr. Cumberbatch does a superb job voicing him.

I really wanted to put the glowy scales, that was just awesome in the movie when he was about to spit fire (it looked more like spitting than just breathing ). I wish his eyes were even more visible in full view, since I'm proud of them haha! In the movie he had a strong build despite being more wyvern-like so I tried to pull that off. I didn't have much references aside of my memory of the movie, so the neck should be longer and stuff... (I go through the trouble of every detail in the end. xD)

Yeah true! I read as for the Hobbit they chose to make Smaug arm-winged in the end so he could kind of slither around more easily, in other words they thought it fitted the character and voicing better. Maybe that wouldn't have worked as well if he had four legs and two wings. I don't blame them since they did an awesome job!
