Virginian Tiger Moth (Spilosoma virginica)
It can be tricky to tell the difference between the Fall Webworm Moth and Virginian Tiger Moth when their wings are closed. I was trying to get this Virginian Tiger Moth to spread his wings so I could get a shot of the orange patches on his abdomen when he flew off into the grass where I found him with open wings!- - -This photo is free to use for educational purposes. Neat! I can see the orange. With all that dew around, I wonder if he wanted a drink.
