Kakashi has it even worse. He lost Obito when he took the bolder for him, swore to protect Rin, and not only did he fail that promise, he was the one who killed her. Shortly after, his sensei minato died in the kyuubi attack, leaving him completely alone and a wreck. If it wasnt for GUY of all people, he would have either killed himself or gone insane...

the bijuu (tailed beast; also known as the demons in Naruto and Gaara) inside him would've probably made it harmless, cuz when the host dies, the bijuu dies as well, and even though they are sentient chakra beings and can just reform in a few years, they don't want to go through that. that's partly why Gaara can't get hurt very easily, and why Naruto can come back from the most grievous of wounds in a few days like nothing happened

And you had at least someone looking out for you *cough*Iruka*cough*Sandaime Hokage*, whereas the only person who seemed to look out for me tried to kill me and told me that he hated me and that my mother did as well. And as for the topic of being an orphan: Well, I'd rather be an orphan than growing up knowing that my parents hated me. And lol, you did know that Temari and Kankuro where among the people who feared me and wanted me dead until after I met you right?

Yeeesss, Gaara is my favourite too. And he definately has the worst past. Imagine everyone hating you, your family against you, a demon within you (although, that would be awesome), assasins sent after you, and the one person in the world who you think loved you tries to kill you, before confessing, "But deep down in my heart... I hated you." Then that one person kills himself trying to kill you. And, yes, all the attempts at self inflicted injuries are deterred by the Shukaku inside you. Except for the one time when you managed to carve the letter for love into your forehead.
God I wish I knew Gaara. T_T
