This picture occured in charcoal on about week three of life at Interlochen Arts Camp. As if I hadn't done enough self-portraits!! Sorry for bombarding your inboxes with my attempts at capturing my face. This was a mandatory drawing exercise.Related content

I recently got back from Intelochen! I read in your response to Sumgurl2 that you describe Interlochen as "magical". I totally agree. I call it heaven.

to be honest, kind of magical. I know that's a lame answer and very cliche, but it'll change your life. You meet people just like you from all over the world who have the same passion for art that you do. It's wonderful.

It sounds wonderful. In my hometown there are quite of few Theatre Programs(Theatre arts and Writing are my Chosen arts) but no one that I am close to really seems to share the same burning for theatre. It would be amazing to be surrounded by art for 3-6 weeks. I couldn't even begin to Imagine...

try out sometime. Either for the camp or the school. sadly, i could not go to the school because i didnt have enough money, but it's always wonderful to be accepted to a place like that. Even the summer camp acceptance is a big deal, especially for theater arts and writing. Try out for next summer.

I think I will. I don't have the money though so if I don't get financial aid I probably cant go...but to know I got in...that would be amazing. a factor for me is that I live in CA so....

ehh i've had friends from interlochen from CA. They fly in. It's not such a big deal.
Yeah, the financial part is a little worrysome, but then again they just tried to minimize the costs this year, so they're down a bit.

It was a portrait started at 8 in the morning, and at that time, my hair does not calm down. (If you can believe it, there's more frizz.) So, I did get the frizz down, even if everything else sucks!
