Inuyasha felt really down. He had been waiting for this day for so long - his dad was supposed to come visit him. But no. Inutaisho had just called the ward and told the bad news - he was sick, and couldn't come.
He wasn't sulking. Just sitting against the ward's main door with a sad face - which was pretty unusual. Normally Inuyasha gave no expressions, just a blank or angry face.
Then the boy head a bang from behind his back. He turned around and saw his own nurse Mitsuhiro coming inside. He opened the door and came in. He wasn't wearing his nurse gown yet, but a black leather jacket and boots.
"Oh, Inuyasha!" he cheered, but saw instantly that something was wrong. He knelt down and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Is something the matter?"
No answer. Mitsuhiro got up and walked to the nurse break room.
"Oh, hi, Mitsuhiro!" Kaede greeted. "How are ye?"
"I am fine. But Inuyasha is not. Why?"
"Well, ye know, his dad was supposed to come today, but he just called us an hour ago and told he was sick, and cannot come."
"Awh..." Mitsuhiro sighed. But then he had an idea!

Mitsuhiro got on his way towards the hospital's cantine. It was filled up, but luckily, the line to the counter was quite short. Mitsuhiro grabbed a green paper mug and filled it with Mountain Dew from the soda faucet.
"Is it Inuyasha?" asked the cashier with a smile. Mitsuhiro smile, too.
"Heh, you know us", Mitsuhiro nodded and poured coins from his wallet on the counter.

Mitsuhiro opened the ward K10-3 with his key. Inuyasha was still sitting there. But suddenly he turned his head fast towards Mitsuhiro, and his dog ears shot up - he could smell something good. Mitsuhiro sat down beside the boy and handed over the soda mug.
"This'll cheer ya up, pal!" Mitsuhiro smiled.

Mitsuhiro is not just a nurse who always wears nurse gowns and gives medicine to the patients. He is a sturdy, humorous but sometimes headstrong, 40-yeard-old man. He likes to wear black leather clothes, rides both cars and motor bikes, and likes to drink beer. He does everything he can to help his patient Inuyasha, ever since the boy was eight years old. They have a very warm relationship.
When Inuyasha isn't wearing a straight jacket, he sometimes prefers to wear no shirts.
