Ohh that's so cool! Was it your first time seeing them? Or are they regular visitors to your area? I remember my first time seeing them, when I was in Sweden. I know they come into my area in the Netherlands as well during winter but I'd never seen them there, and I gotta say that first meeting them in a huge, moss-covered pine forest was quite a bit more special than any encounter at home could have been. Ironically, almost right after I got back from Sweden I spotted one sitting in the backyard hahah. Anyway, excuse my ramblings, it's so cool you actually captured one of these little ones on photo. Their tiny size and jittery moves must make it incredibly hard to capture them (never tried personally).

Nope, they live here You can hear them all the time in our backyard in spring and summer, though they're so small you can't see them if you're not looking for them, usually. I was very surprised that this little group we saw was so bold. We were chatting next to them with my friend with a normal voice and they just kept eating and chirping! Their song is probably my favourite among all the species we've got here <3

Ohhh, lucky you to have them around all the time. They are so incredibly adorable! Their song is really distinctive once you know it. After I'd been to Sweden I suddenly started hearing them so much in my own country, I just never knew they were there haha. Ohh, I may know how come they're so bold! Or at least some of them, as this is the case in the Netherlands and I'm not sure how/if it also applies to Sweden. But anyway, the goldcrests we get here usually come from just a little further north, from other well-populated countries. However sometimes the winters are so bad that we also get an influx of goldcrests from the great taiga woodlands up in Russia. Many of these birds have never seen humans before, so are not afraid of them, and will sometimes even sit right on your head! So maybe you got a few of those 'wild' ones in your backyard who were so very brave

Perhaps, since normally they're so so shy. Those ones were eating in a birch next to a road and we live on the edge of a field... Anyway, no matter the cause, I was very pleased to get some really good photos of them at last
