I noticed something. The more detailed and lovely the female characters are, the more their heads are a quarter or half of the size they should be, as compared to the body.
this work comes to mind. Great details on the body, but their heads are far too small for the length of their legs, especially Cerys' legs.
It's just a thing I noticed, since it makes you automatically corelate the body, particularly the legs with the head.

Oh it's interesting, because I've been kinda noticing this on the way I draw guys instead of girls. Usually I keep girls around 6-7 heads tall and guys near 8-9 heads tall. This girl in particular doesn't even reach the 7 head mark, so making her head bigger would make her proportions a bit messed up? (like this girl -> Comm: Simply whose head is too big for her body; she's literally 5 heads tall). The guy here is more than 8 heads tall so it should be more noticeable on him than her. Maybe the main problem isn't her head (as in, the skull size) but her face?, since I've been playing with faces lately. In that case though, the 'rightness' of the pic would be a subjective matter and depend directly on the viewer's personal taste

I understand it can differ in perspective. True, maybe it is the face. I compared the face with the rest of the body and for me it turned out cerys, the blond girl from the example, was indeed 6 and a half heads tall, but her legs were about half a head longer and her torso was shorter than what her proportions would require. My best guess is that the face in combo with the small torso, give the females this strangely elongated figure that goes a bit into the uncanny valley.
Also thank you for your detailed and polite reply. Whenever I point things out I am usually kicked to the corner for intruding :<

It does look nice, I am not denying that.
The example I just showed is in my favorites for ages, but still... the proportions. I expect Rika-dono types of bodies in a couple of years.
And I am not really fine with that. Personal preference for realistic or consistent anatomy I guess.
