I flipped these textures 90 degrees either way and resized and cropped them ... Then once it was applied to the image, I airbrushed to the clouds and added colour and a tiny bit of light, also adjusting the modes of the layers opacity, blend and light modes.

Thank you, this is one of my faves from my very first manips, it also holds a lot of sentiment to me and I was somewhat elated with the outcome being that it did turn out like this and I was just learning how to manipulate and do digital Artworks. And it WAS created in the essence of Darkness and hope, you hit it right on the nail, it was created right after I was in an accident and was in excruciating pain and enduring spinal injections, at that time I was almost suicidal, I just wanted the pain to go away or to be able to tolerate it. Many of these works were created then

As we have already discussed the initial areas you need to work on, the concept of this manipulation is full of irony and visual symbolism. Usually you see birds locked in a cage rather than a human, and almost feels like karma in a way, since the birds are taking pleasure in seeing this mere mortal in misery and unable to go anywhere. I can also see that she's on a pedestal floating high in the sky or space continuum, I got the image of an hourglass for some reason because with most of your other works, time and sorrow plays a part in your pieces. She is losing her feathers which symbolises her freedom the more she is locked in there, and her wings are getting smaller. Maybe she is trapped in this time and space as a punishment for she cannot roam freely as others....there is quote that pertains to this:
"One reason God created time was so that there would be a place to bury the failures of the past" ~James Long

Interesting interpretation. This is what it sort of felt like with me as I was creating it, yet not completely. It had nothing to do with failure, yet rather to do with feeling trapped in a situation or circumstance. I always appreciate your comment and interpretations of my works.
